EARLY construction work is well under way on a retirement village at the Toowoomba Golf Club, providing a financial boost to the city.

The Ninth Middle Ridge on Rowbotham St is being developed by Queensland retirement village provider and operator Aura Holdings within the historic golf club, which opened in 1896.

Earthworks have begun to relocate the tenth tee and the storage sheds for golf buggies, while construction has begun on an overflow carpark and a new access route from Rowbotham St. The carpark and buggy shed works are being carried out at a cost of $750,000 and all contractors and design consultants have been locally sourced.

Major building work will begin in April and construction is expected to be completed by the middle of 2021.
