Resident life

As a resident of The Atrium Lutwyche, you will enjoy endless opportunities for fun, make new friendships and enjoy the companionship of a likeminded community.

What’s life like for residents of The Atrium Lutwyche?

At The Atrium Lutwyche we empower residents to shape, take ownership of and make decisions about the community in which they live.

Our close-knit residents organise their own busy village activity calendar so you will always have something to do. You can take the lift up to the stunning rooftop terrace for Friday afternoon cocktails or a barbecue with your new neighbours, head off to a local restaurant or café, venture out for some retail therapy, try aqua aerobics in the fabulous pool, join the craft group, or meet for a game of billiards.

Whether it’s a chat in the hallway or sharing a bottle of wine while taking in the city lights, you’ll have friends nearby who ‘get’ you and will be around when you need them.

Your family are always welcome to visit the village.

Meet our future resident, Maureen

Have you always lived in the area?

“I’ve lived nearby in Clayfield for the past 20 years but it’s all become too much. I really want to downsize – who wants to continue cleaning the family home with its five bedrooms and three toilets? The Atrium is going to be a fresh start for me.’’

What are you looking forward to most about life at The Atrium?

“The lack of maintenance really appeals. I’ll be able to whiz around the whole apartment with my stick vacuum in 15 minutes. I know if anything goes wrong at The Atrium, I won’t have to look after the maintenance myself.

“I also love the openness of my fifth-floor apartment. When you walk in the front door the whole unit is glass out to the balcony and the view is there. That’s what sold me.’’

Meet our future resident, Helen

What appeals to you most about living at The Atrium?

“I am really looking forward to sharing my life with like-minded people. I don’t want to be a lonely old lady trapped inside her home. I want to be out there enjoying my life.

“I plan to make good use of The Atrium’s rooftop terrace. I think it will become an extension of my living space. I love sitting outside, so I’ll also be spending a lot of time on my balcony just taking in that view.’’

How did you know The Atrium was for you?

“I looked at quite a few other retirement apartments but when The Atrium Lutwyche came up, I knew straight away that it was what I wanted.

“I’m still going to be near my family and in the area I’m used to. I’m not moving away from what’s familiar.

“I really like that the Atrium is quite small with less than 60 units so it will have a real community feel about it.’’

Meet Aura village resident, Robert

Previously a scientist in the agricultural industry, Robert keeps active with his love for gardening. In fact, if you were to visit Robert’s balcony today, you would see a flourish of bright flowers and fresh herbs.

“I love to garden but I am grateful not to have to worry about home maintenance anymore. You won’t find me mowing the lawn, trimming trees or painting; it’s really nice to have that behind us.

“It’s been a really positive experience living in an apartment in a retirement village. My advice is, don’t leave it too late to really consider making the move.”
