1. Boondall Wetlands

Get lost amongst the trees, do some bird spotting and find the perfect spot for a picnic. The Boondall Wetlands can be accessed from the Gateway Motorway or hop on a bike and take a ride from Lutwyche along the fabulous Kedron Brook pathways.

Take a bus on the Northern Busway from Lutwyche Road or a train from Albion station into the CBD for Brisbane’s best retail therapy, cafes and eateries. Or you can just grab a bottle of wine and head up to The Atrium’s rooftop to enjoy the city view.

3. Bit of history

One of the remains of a World War II air raid shelters still stands on Lutwyche Road near the intersection with Truro Street. One of the area’s oldest and loveliest homes is Rosemount House rebuilt in 1894 from the original built in 1850s. It is now part of Karuna Hospice.

4. South Bank Parklands

If you ever tire of the Kedron Brook pathways, head to the South Bank Parklands for a stroll beside the river or a bite to eat at one of the many cafes or restaurants. The 17ha site perfect for a picnic or take the grandkids to the popular man-made beach and playgrounds.

5. The tiny house

Just off Lutwyche Road is a quaint and tiny house on what is believed to be the smallest block of land in Brisbane. On a 75sq m block it is on the corner of Eildon Road and Rosemount Terrace. The house was built around 1898 but has undergone several renovations.
