About the village

Our local area

At The Avenue Maroochydore, we are dedicated to providing a vibrant and supportive community in an enviable coastal location you’ll love being a part of.

It’s hard to imagine a more perfect retirement location

The Avenue is just 200m from the waters of the picturesque Maroochy River looking towards the unspoilt Goat Island, an area loved by paddleboarders and anglers. If fishing is your thing, you’ll be hooked on your new lifestyle. And with the Sunshine Coast’s most beautiful beaches within easy reach your family will adore your new lifestyle as much as you do.

A short stroll from home will take you to the bustling Sunshine Plaza where you’ll find a shopper’s paradise, cinema and an array of cafes and restaurants.

There are several attractive parks and walkways nearby and if you desire a quieter pace or the perfect picnic spot there’s pretty Cotton Tree where the Maroochy River meets the rolling ocean.

A range of medical facilities are on hand, including St Vincent’s Care Services Maroochydore, located opposite, and the area is serviced by the hi-tech Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Handy bus services provide transport options and the Sunshine Motorway allows easy access for north and south travel.

You'll also have access to extensive facilities inside the village

Community connections

In our experience, retirees are at their happiest when they feel a true sense of connectedness to their local community. We don’t want to create an ‘exclusive enclave’ within our village because we believe both our residents and community can benefit from shared experiences.

Consequently, The Avenue Maroochydore is focused on building strong relationships with local businesses, clubs and schools to provide opportunities for residents to stay active and involved in a range of activities in the area. Here are a few who also share our vision:

Buderim Men's Shed

Buderim Men’s Shed is a non-profit, non-commercial community organisation providing a safe and friendly meeting place for men to work on projects in the company of other men. The Men’s Shed also provides value to the local community.
