1. Francis Lookout

This peaceful little park on Dewar Terrace is part of the original farming holdings of the pioneering Francis family. Matriarch Angela Francis, a talented woodcarver, with the help of her friends carved the decorative lychgate at the entry to the lookout in memory of her husband and their precious children whose graves can be seen in the park.

2. Hit the greens

Corinda Golf Club is a small and friendly club with a nine-hole course and a Pitch ’n’ Putt challenge for the whole family. It is part of the Oxley Golf Club complex with an 18-hole course and popular driving range.

3. Retail therapy

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is a shopper’s paradise with more than 360 specialty stores over four floors. It is the largest shopping centre in Brisbane’s western suburbs. It also boasts an array of cafes, eateries and entertainment options including cinemas.

4. Mt Coot-tha green spaces

Feeling energetic? Take your pick of walks around the Mt Coot-tha Reserve, including the popular Slaughter Falls. There are several picnic spots to make a day of it. Take in the stunning Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens on the way up.

Brisbane’s fabulous Performing Arts Centre at South Bank is a bus ride away. It offers theatre productions, concerts, ballet, opera, State Library, Queensland Museum and GoMA (Gallery of Modern Art).
