The construction of the Sunshine Coast’s newest retirement community, The Avenue Maroochydore, reached an important milestone with the first display apartment open to the public on Saturday.

70 interested parties viewed the apartment and were impressed by the high-quality finishes, spacious living area and the large walk-in-robe with an adjoining ensuite. Future residents are moving in from mid-June and are eagerly awaiting their new lifestyles.

“The display apartment gave us an insight into the size of the rooms, the quality workmanship of the cabinets and cupboards and the sophistication of the appliances. We couldn’t be happier; it confirms the modern style designed apartment we have been hoping for. We are looking forward to the retirement lifestyle, making friends and having social get-togethers with other residents,” future residents, Barrie and Margaret Smith said.

The Avenue Maroochydore retirement community, developed and operated by Aura Holdings, is setting a new standard in seniors’ independent living with 2 and 3 bedroom apartments selling from $445,000 – $755,000.

The display apartment has a private, secure on street entrance and spans 109m2 internally into a spacious courtyard extending over 77m2 .

Aura Director, Tim Russell said, “Retirees on the Sunshine Coast tell us that what’s really important to them is choice when it comes to living options, so we are really pleased with the feedback from future residents.”

The Avenue Maroochydore is set on the previous site of the Maroochydore Bowls Club on Anzac Avenue. Located across the road from St Vincent’s Residential Aged Care Facility, its exceptional location is within walking distance to Sunshine Plaza, the emerging CBD precinct and the river.

Upon completion, it will have 117 retirement living apartments. Barrie Smith said, “The location is second to none, close to river and beaches and Sunshine Plaza is all within walking distance. Looking toward the future, home care services available at The Avenue Maroochydore, means we can have the option of extra help in our senior days, without having to relocate.”

The new community will also include state-of-the-art facilities including a gym, café, internal courtyard with outdoor BBQ area, billiards room and bar as well as on demand in-home care services through partner, Five Good Friends.
