We take pride in our simple and fair contracts
Aura Holdings prides itself on providing retirees with the simplest and fairest retirement living contracts in Queensland.
Aura director Tim Russell says Aura believes fees should be both fair and transparent.
“Some large corporate retirement village providers offer a multitude of contract options that can become baffling,’’ Tim says. “Aura’s leasehold contracts are standard and clear, ensuring you will benefit from the capital gain on your apartment and you won’t pay for refurbishment, ensuring you receive more return when the time comes to sell.’’
At Aura we will always consider a resident's personal situation on a one-on-one basis and offer flexibility to suit your needs. Your sales consultant will be the initial point of contact if you do seek a change to Aura’s standard contract to suit your circumstances.
Aura’s communities operate under the Queensland Retirement Villages Act 1999 and the State Government has taken steps to strengthen legislation around retirement village living. Your contract is legislated under the Retirement Villages Act and is registered with the Queensland Land Titles Office.
Aura Holdings’ relationship with residents is one built on honesty, mutual trust and respect. We always recommend that potential residents seek independent advice before signing a contract.
Judd Last, managing partner of Dexter Law, says retirement village fee structures can vary quite substantially.
“Retirement village contracts are completely different to other types of contracts,’’ Judd says. “They are relatively complex because of the legislative framework that governs them and the many foreign legal concepts that can be involved.
“It can all seem quite confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. We are also familiar with the Aura contract documentation across the various villages and understand the entire process involved in a move into a retirement village,’’ Judd says.
