At Aura we’re proudly anti-corporate

Aura Holdings’ Directors Mark Taylor and Tim Russell pride themselves on being the retirement industry anti-corporates, who don’t answer to shareholders or overseas CEOs – just their residents.

They say their decisions will always be influenced by the people who live in their villages.

“We think of ourselves as the anti-corporate because our approach is influenced by our residents’ needs and wants – and that’s just the way it should be,’’ Mark says.

“We have a flat management structure, there’s no hierarchy. We are completely opposed to the corporate management system of other retirement living operators. We’ve both been there and done that. It really isn’t our way.

“At most other villages there’s no chance your message will get through to the people at the top. Tim and I willingly give out our phone numbers to residents and we always make ourselves available. We both visit the villages and are hands-on. If there’s ever an issue, we are always open to a coffee, tea, a scone or a beer with residents.’’

Aura Holdings is proudly a southeast Queensland owned and operated company, built from scratch by Mark and Tim who have more than 35 years’ combined experience in the retirement living sector.

The company has six villages in various stages of development in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.

“We are passionate about Aura Holdings, it’s our business,’’ Mark says. “Every Aura village is individual and ready to the shaped by the people who live there. Because the villages are their home, we encourage our residents to participate in the decision-making process. This is their home and we work for them.’’

Tim says his goal has been to create a retirement living community where he would be happy for his parents to live. He has achieved that with his parents, Pat and Jim, now happily settled into The Atrium Lutwyche in Brisbane’s inner north.

All Aura Holdings’ developments are handled in-house by a small, yet highly experienced, team to design and develop unique vertical living villages for retirees.  With a single development team involved in all facets of the project from the beginning, the quality of the finished buildings is assured.

The development team is handpicked from different areas of the construction industry, rather than external consultants. The team works with highly regarded Queensland architects and construction companies who are experienced in creating quality retirement living communities.

As we are not only the developer but also the ongoing village operator, the highest quality of construction and finishes is essential to ensure the long-term success of Aura Holdings.
