PRESS RELEASE Wednesday, 20 November 2019

Retirees have snapped up apartments in North Kirra’s first retirement living community to be built across 10 storeys with stunning ocean views. An official soil turning ceremony tomorrow, November 21, will launch construction of The Pavilion North Kirra. An incredible 70 per cent of the 68 independent living apartments have already sold.

The official soil turning ceremony will be conducted by Karen Andrews, Federal Member for McPherson and Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, onsite at 3 Lang Street, North Kirra at 3pm tomorrow.

Aura Directors Tim Russell and Mark Taylor will be available for interview.

Prior to the official ceremony, our future residents will gather to celebrate at the neighbouring North Kirra Surf Lifesaving Club from 2.30pm.

The Pavilion North Kirra, an exciting new vertical-living village on the southern end of the Gold Coast, is being developed by Queensland retirement living operator Aura Holding with construction due to be completed in March 2021.

At 3 Lang Street, the village offers one, two and three-bedroom apartments ranging from $495,000 to $1.28 million.

The pet-friendly village will provide residents with a high standard of community facilities including a rooftop garden, café, gym, yoga and pilates zone, wine room, billiards room, library, functions room and barbecue area, plus retail space on the ground floor.

Aura Holdings director Tim Russell said The Pavilion had quickly found favour with retirees and downsizers seeking quality retirement living in North Kirra.

Mr Russell said several buyers had already downsized to unit living on the Coast but were now unhappy residing in apartment blocks that were open to holidaymakers and the Airbnb market.

“These retirees are uncomfortable sharing their facilities and the lifts with strangers. They now seek the benefits of living in a safe retirement community with like-minded residents, people they know and want to spend time with,’’ he said.

“At The Pavilion, all the maintenance will be taken care of so residents can just enjoy their independent beachside lifestyle with support on hand if needed.

“They will feel like they are on holiday every day, sitting on their balconies savouring breath-taking views of the southern Gold Coast’s favourite beaches or the rolling hills of the Hinterland.

“Our residents who are downsizing from the family home are not willing to compromise on the lifestyle they enjoy. But they are seeking a sense of community with like-minded residents, security and they want the very best of communal facilities without any of the associated maintenance.’’

Aura Holdings is currently involved in six projects in various stages of development in southeast Queensland, providing high-quality retirement living apartments.

The Pavilion is designed by O’Neill Architecture and will be built by Woollam Constructions.

A sales office is open on the corner of Douglas and Musgrave streets, Kirra (07) 5536 2865.
