Aura Holdings has officially commenced construction of The Evelyn Mt Ommaney with a sod turning ceremony held today at McLeod Country Golf Club.

The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the project following its official launch at the club in August, which was attended by community representatives, future residents, and project partners. Strong market interest has already seen 50 per cent of apartments secured prior to construction commencing.

Aura Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Sean Graham, said the start of construction signals an important step forward in delivering a high-quality retirement living option for Brisbane’s Centenary suburbs.

“The Evelyn will set the benchmark for retirement living in Brisbane, delivering modern apartments, strong community connections, and a premier golf club setting, unlike anything else in the Centenary suburbs.

“We are pleased to see such strong, early demand, which reflects the community’s confidence in both the project and Aura’s commitment to the ongoing partnership with The McLeod Country Golf Club” Mr Graham said.

Construction is being delivered by Queensland builder McNab, one of the state’s most respected construction companies. McNab CEO, Kunjan Ganatra, was present at the sod turning to celebrate the milestone, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building high-quality, community-focused projects across Queensland.

Kunjan emphasised “Today marks the start of an exciting journey alongside Aura Holdings and the McLeod Country Golf Club.”

“The Evelyn is exactly the kind of project we value most – one that creates a connected community, enriches residents’ lives, and adds lasting benefit to the local area. It’s especially meaningful as this is our fourth project with Aura Holdings, and a testament to McNab’s proven approach, which continues to deliver exceptional quality and certainty in today’s environment.”

The partnership with McLeod Country Golf Club has also been central to the development. Club President, Diane Lally, joined the ceremony, acknowledging The Evelyn as a project that will strengthen the future of the club while creating a vibrant new community within its grounds.

Diane stated “The Evelyn represents more than a new retirement community — it represents the long-term sustainability of the McLeod Country Golf Club.

“This partnership allows us to strengthen our future, maintain a premier course, and continue to serve our members and the wider community.”

The Evelyn will feature a total of 126 thoughtfully designed residences, comprised of 110 contemporary apartments and 16 stylish townhouses, designed to provide the perfect balance of elegance and comfort. With construction scheduled in two stages, The Evelyn is set to be an extraordinary community hub offering first-class amenities, all nestled beside the McLeod Country Golf Club.

Designed by Marchese Partners | Life 3A, the community will feature exemplary facilities and community grounds including an outdoor barbeque and entertaining area, an outdoor heated pool, gym, wine room, library, billiards room and more.

The project is being funded by a partnership between Assembly Funds Management (AFM) and PGIM’s real estate business.

The Evelyn Mt Ommaney is set to become a sought-after community for retirees in West Brisbane.  To stay up to date with news about The Evelyn Mt Ommaney Retirement Community.
