Introducing Anya Rus: Aura’s New Wellness Advisor Supporting Residents Every Step of the Way
At Aura, we’ve always believed that retirement living should be defined by freedom, comfort, and peace of mind. Most residents in Aura Communities live completely independently and will continue to do so for quite some time; however, it’s important to have a plan in place for the future. Knowing that there is support available if needed allows residents to continue living independently for longer, with greater peace of mind.
While our communities offer beautiful apartments and a vibrant social life, we know that navigating the aged care system can sometimes feel overwhelming. It can sometimes take longer than expected to get set up or have unforeseen hurdles, especially as national reforms and support programs continue to evolve.
To ensure our residents always feel informed, supported, and empowered, we are thrilled to introduce Anya Rus, Aura’s new Wellness Advisor.
Anya brings a wealth of experience as a qualified nurse and has already begun working closely with residents across our Brisbane villages. Her role has been created with one goal in mind: to make navigating the aged care journey clearer, easier, and more personalised for every resident.

What Does a Wellness Advisor Actually Do?
The Wellness Advisor’s role has been designed to support residents with many aspects of the government-funded aged care system, including:
1. Guidance Through My Aged Care
From registering to understanding assessments, referrals, and service options, Aura’s Wellness Advisor will help residents navigate the entire My Aged Care process.
2. Support with the New Aged Care Reforms
With the latest changes introduced on 1 November, many residents have questions about what the reforms mean for them. Anya is here to explain the updates in clear, simple terms and guide residents through any impacts it may have.
3. Accessing CHSP Services
Whether someone needs help with domestic assistance, transport, or meals, Anya can assist residents in accessing Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services and understanding eligibility.
4. Referrals for ACAT Assessments
If a resident requires additional support, Aura’s Wellness Advisor can help coordinate Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) assessments to ensure they receive the right level of aged care services if, or when, they need it.
5. Connecting Residents with Health & Wellbeing Services
Anya works closely with local providers to link residents with the health, community, and wellbeing services that best align with their needs.
6. Personalised Wellness Planning
Anya prides herself on taking the time to understand each resident’s wellness goals to help them stay independent, active, and confident in their daily living.
The best way to think of Aura’s new Wellness Advisor is as a dedicated advocate for the wellness of our residents. As a registered nurse who has spent many years helping people navigate the Aged-Care system, she is passionate about promoting choice, dignity, and person-centred care throughout the entire support journey.
Supporting Today’s Residents by Planning for Tomorrow
Anya is currently working predominantly with our Brisbane-based villages, with plans to expand her support across more communities in the future. She will be moving between villages to meet with residents individually, ensuring help is available if, or when, it’s needed.
Her presence offers families and residents alike an added layer of reassurance, knowing there is a qualified professional within the Aura community ready to help them make informed decisions about their well-being.
Why is Aura Introducing a Wellness Advisor?
At Aura, we pride ourselves on creating communities where residents feel safe, supported, and valued. Introducing a dedicated Wellness Advisor is another step we’re taking to ensure our residents can live the life they choose, with confidence, clarity, and care.
With Anya’s warmth, expertise, and resident-first approach, we’re excited to continue raising the standard of support available within our villages.
