Retirees tee-up for golfing life

The design team behind Townsvillle's new sports stadium and Brisbane's first high-rise school has reimagined retirement living on a golf course for its next project.
Cox Architecture has teamed up with Aura Holdings and McNab builders to deliver 85 luxury low-rise apartments on the Darling Downs. The development will support 650 jobs and contribute more than $30 million to the local economy.
"Independent living is moving into a new era," Cox Architecture director Richard Coulson said. "Effectively they are large high-level apartments that have the capacity to be modified to suit people ageing in place."
