Early works tee-off for The Ninth

Thursday, 9 April 2020

Preliminary works necessary for the main construction are underway at The Ninth Middle Ridge within the Toowoomba Golf Club.

The construction of 120 new buggy sheds and 65 carparks, adjoining the 10th tee, is well underway and due for completion in mid May 2020. The relocation of the buggy sheds and carparks will clear the site for The Ninth. The 10th tee itself is also being reconfigured to improve the course. The contractors and design consultants involved in the work are all locally sourced.

After the completion of the preliminary works and demolition, works will begin on the installation of new services connections and the basement excavation.

Experienced retirement village builder McNab has been appointed to the project with Cox Architecture.

The Ninth Middle Ridge village will be built adjacent to the ninth hole and will set a new standard of independent living apartments for over-60s on the Darling Downs. The 85 two, three and four-bedroom apartments will have expansive views of the parkland golf course.

Expressions of interest are now being taken for The Ninth Middle Ridge.

The past month has been a very challenging time with the Covid-19 pandemic causing chaos in all our lives and the way we live.

At Aura Holdings’ three occupied retirement villages strict measures are in place for the safety and protection of all residents and staff.

Aura Holdings’ Director Tim Russell says the outbreak of the virus has shown that independent living villages are a safe option with residents able to self isolate with support and care on site.

The residents of Kingsford Terrace Corinda, The Avenue Maroochydore  and The Atrium Lutwyche have been assured that while they might need to physically isolate, they are not alone.

The village managers and staff are doing an amazing job to support their residents by keeping in daily contact with them and ensuring their needs are met. Where needed, they are organising the delivery of foodstuff, groceries and pharmaceutical items.

All visitors to our villages must sign in at the front desk and use the provided hand sanitiser. Any communal areas such as the lifts are regularly sanitised by staff.

Our wonderful residents are maintaining their good humour by keeping busy inside their independent living apartments with craft activities, movies, TV series, puzzles, brain teasers and staying connected by phone or social media with their family, friends and other residents.

While it’s been a challenging time for everyone, our residents know they are in a supportive and caring community. Together we will come through this crisis.
