1. Garden City

Toowoomba is known as the Garden City and hosts the annual Carnival of Flowers. The most popular gardens include the 26ha Queen’s Park in the centre of the city but for something different head to the Ju Raku En Japanese garden at the University of Southern Queensland.

2. Salty surprise

A unique, natural therapy experience on James Street is the Toowoomba Salt Cave. Salt therapy is reputed to improve general wellbeing, promote better sleep and help with respiratory issues, hay fever and skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis.

The Darling Downs Zoo, midway between Toowoomba and Warwick, specialises in the breeding of many critically endangered and vulnerable species from around the world. You can also visit at night for a barbecue and tour.

Toowoomba residents love a market! There are Farmers Markets every Saturday at Cobb&Co; Sunday markets at Mills Precinct and the PCYC Markets at James Street; monthly street food markets at St Luke’s Church; craft markets on third Sunday of month at Queens Park.

Find the largest performing arts precinct in regional Australia at the Empire Theatre in Neil Street, Toowoomba Renowned for its art deco architecture with so much history and beautifully restored, it’s home to performances and functions.
