RESIDENTS at a Maroochydore retirement community have found the ideal solution to combat social isolation among the elderly during the coronavirus threat by playing “balcony bingo”.

The Avenue, Maroochydore, staff are conscious of the emotional wellbeing and mental health of residents who may face long periods of isolation.

They’re helping residents keep their spirits high with activities that can be carried out by maintaining social distancing, including online brain training and “balcony bingo”.

Balcony bingo involves residents going out on to their balconies – while keeping their distance – to take part.
