Marvellous Mandy – Village Manager at The Avenue

Mandy is The Avenue Maroochydore’s fun, empathetic and much-loved Village Manager. The residents know Mandy is always there for them.

Animal lover Mandy grew up in Ferntree Gully in the foothills of Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, bringing home sick or injured animals, and dreaming of being a vet. Her caring nature now extends to all her residents at The Avenue retirement village on the Sunshine Coast.

Mandy loves nothing more than weekend walks with her two german shepherd rescue dogs, Tax and Bear. While her four-legged fur babies fill Mandy’s heart, there’s still plenty of room for husband Ian (the Mr Fixit maintenance man around The Avenue) and their two sons and six grandchildren.

Mandy has a background working as a village and resort manager, and before arriving at The Avenue she worked at Aura HoldingsKingsford Terrace retirement community in Corinda in Brisbane’s southwest.

While she thrives on the interaction and relationships with her residents, Mandy also loves The Avenue with its beautiful apartments, security and welcoming grounds.

The love of all that salty air around Maroochydore spills over to her holiday bucket list – the Maldives, or coastlines of Canada and Alaska.

Mandy’s advice for anyone considering a move from their family home to The Avenue: “Enjoy what you had, remember the good memories and be excited about your new beginning. Downsizing can free up money, time and be the start of a wonderful social network. Forget being lonely, you won’t have time!’’

So what does Mandy love most about her role with Aura Holdings? “I see the difference, the care, transparency and honesty. It feeds through to the residents. Being a village manager rocks!’’

Well it’s been agreed, the residents think you rock, marvellous Mandy!
