Five vertical retirement villages are under construction across southeast Queensland and Sunshine Coast couple Terry and Heather Eames are waiting to move in to one of them.

The projects in Brisbane, Toowoomba, the Gold and Sunshine coasts are being developed by Aura Holdings, and all are on track for their completion dates despite the COVID-19 crisis which has created a challenging environment for the construction industry.

A sixth retirement project, The Atrium Lutwyche in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, was completed earlier this year and has 59 chic apartments with city views.

“It was a bid decision to move, it came out of the blue,” Mr Eames said of the couple’s decision to buy a ground floor apartment in The Avenue Maroochydore.
