The Avenue Maroochydore is encouraging retirees to put themselves first after spending their lives working, raising families and paying off a mortgage.

Aura Holdings director Mark Taylor, the developer and operator of The Avenue, said it was time for many over 60s to make a lifestyle change that put their own needs first.

“Retirement village living allows residents to free up capital when they sell their family home,” he said. “This not only allows them to realise their long-held travel dreams but they no longer have the burden of home maintenance. At The Avenue, the lawns, repainting and changing lightbulbs are someone else’s responsibility. It’s a relaxed, lock and leave lifestyle.
