Mitchell is zooming ahead with expectations that the third stage of the Kingsford Terrace Corinda retirement community may be completed in December, a month ahead of schedule.

All Mitchell’s blockwork has been completed, roof framing and sheeting almost complete, internal wall framing is underway and essential services are being installed in the basement and level one.

Mitchell will have 10 spacious apartment, some with their own courtyard gardens.

But the growth at KT is not restricted to the buildings, check out what’s been happening in our new gardens. The recent major plantings around the village have established well and are growing at an amazing rate. The residents are looking forward to the first harvests in the new raised vegetable and herb gardens.

Our popular exercise classes are back!  Firebloom Fitness classes are held three times a week on Mondays at 8.30am and Wednesdays and Fridays at 10.30am. The classes, run by instructor Clare, concentrate on building strength, improving balance and increasing flexibility. Classes are $10 a session.

The Matriarchs’ Movement to Music classes with instructor Tonia are held on Tuesdays at 10.30am. The gentle movement and stretching classes are also $10.

Yoga classes with instructor Lisa from Samastah Yoga are held in the function room on alternate Saturdays from 2pm to 3.15pm. The next class will he held on Saturday, August 1, then fortnightly after. Classes involve 60 minutes of movement and 15 minutes of guided relaxation. Cost is $12 per class. Beginners are very welcome.

Fitness class numbers are restricted so RSVPs are essential. Residents and interested members of the public are very welcome to attend.
