Helping residents navigate support services

Saskia Eussen is a new face around the friendly Kingsford Terrace retirement community at Corinda where she is settling in well as the Five Good Friends Concierge.

Saskia, a highly qualified registered nurse, is the Five Good Friends Concierge at the Kingsford Terrace retirement community in Corinda.

Saskia says she enjoys helping residents navigate the often complicated maze of Home Care Packages and to access any services they might need. She can also organise any in-home care services provided by Five Good Friends, either long or short term.

Our residents desire to stay independent in their own beautiful apartments and Saskia can support that goal by determining their eligibility for a Home Care Package and prepare for an ACAT assessment.

“I receive a lot of satisfaction from being able to help,’’ Saskia says. “Some residents have heard snippets about what might be available to them under My Aged Care but they are unsure where to go to access services.’’

Saskia says it’s important for residents to plan ahead for government entitlements. “It can take time to navigate the process so it is important to start accessing the system before things change, rather than when things have already changed. Many residents aren’t aware of how long it can take to have a package approved. There is no harm getting into the system before you need it. The services are there to be used.’’

Five Good Friends is an approved provider of the Government’s Home Care Packages or residents can pay privately for their services.

Saskia conducts regular brain training sessions for Kingsford Terrace residents and interested members of the public. The sessions are held on the last Thursday of every month at 10am in the village’s function room. Call 3716 0804 to book. All are welcome to attend.

The beautiful surrounds of our village have really impressed Saskia: “It doesn’t feel anything like a retirement village. It’s definitely not what people would expect. I love all the facilities and the community engagement at Kingsford Terrace. Residents can do as much or as little as they like here.’’

If you are interested in finding out more about living at Kingsford Terrace, you are very welcome to meet with Saskia to discuss the facilities offered, the lifestyle, the range of services available if needed and your eligibility for government funding.

Contact her directly to book an appointment on 0448 972 097 or a booking sheet is available at the village’s reception. Saskia is available Mondays to Fridays 9.30am to 11.30am in Suite 1 (down the hall past the main dining room) at Kingsford Terrace, 260 Cliveden Avenue, Corinda, or she is happy to meet residents in their apartments.

Aura Holdings is offering a $10,000 Wellbeing Reward for in-home services from Five Good Friends to any new residents of Kingsford Terrace when they purchase a one or two-bedroom apartment in our friendly community.
